• Chicken: “our 100% chicken breast is Halal-certified as a raw product”, and cage free.
• Bacon: UK Shake Shacks serve pork bacon, which isn’t halal. The Trafford Centre also offers halal certified turkey bacon.
• The kitchen: “Our kitchens are not exclusively Halal.” Shake Shack UK says it isn’t a fully halal certified restaurant because non halal items are on the menu.

Halal food blogs reported that Shake Shack UK moved to halal beef across its UK restaurants in late 2025, having served halal chicken first. Shake Shack says halal items are prepared separately, but pork bacon and alcohol are still served.

What “halal certified as a raw product” means

It means the beef and chicken were halal when they arrived at the restaurant. It doesn’t mean a halal body inspects how the restaurant stores, cooks and serves them. So the questions for you are:

• Are you comfortable eating halal meat cooked in a kitchen that also cooks pork bacon?
• Are you comfortable eating where alcohol is served?

In March 2026, Restaurant Online reported that Shake Shack’s new Trafford Centre restaurant in Manchester would be its first UK halal restaurant, with a halal menu including halal hot dogs and halal bacon, and no alcohol. Shake Shack’s own UK FAQ still says the Trafford Centre offers both halal turkey bacon and pork bacon. The two accounts don’t match, so ask the restaurant before you order.

Is Shake Shack halal in London?

The beef and chicken are halal at every London Shake Shack, including Covent Garden, Westfield and King’s Cross. The kitchens also serve pork bacon and alcohol.
